PML has carefully selected its products and equipment to ensure proper environmental management without increasing the cost of printing or comprising the quality of its product offerings.
Environmental management is predominantly achieved by;
- Utilising electronic data transfer where practical to reduce paper and ink consumption;
- Utilising computer-to-plate technology, in place of traditional film, to reduce processing time, chemical handling and chemical waste in the pre-press process;
- Investment in technologically advanced machinery to reduce water usage, reduce paper waste and reduced ink and toner consumption;
- Utilising vegetable based inks to reduce the quantity of ink required. Vegetable based inks are non-toxic and bio-degradable;
- Offering advice on a wide range of paper stocks to enable customers to benefit by selecting environmentally friendly paper stocks including recycled stocks.
PML manages its waste disposal by engaging an accredited service provider that is experienced in waste management and resource recovery solutions including the recycling of plastic and aluminum plates.
